Monuments, National Historic Parks, Nationl Military Parks,
etc. that it manages. The emphasis of the training program
is on the function (knowledge, skills and attitudes) of each
employee, and everyone is expected to have a thorough
idea of the operations, the organization and the position of
the NPS. Besides, employees are also educated on various
aspects such as the mission, the core value, and the duties of
the NPS, as well as other job-related skills.
Holding on to the Core Values
“We deeply wish that visitors can take home some
unique experience as their biggest gain from visiting the
national park. If we, as workers of the national park, can
only provide our visitors with shallow recreational services,
or only satisfy their desires for buying souvenirs, how shall
we expect them to learn to protect themselves or the
natural resources in the park?” asked the instructor in a
core value training session by the Grand Canyou National
Park. Fundamentals Course.
